Talking about Lincoln Child is nothing new at this point. His reputation precedes him, thanks to the numerous successful works he has written over many years. But while it???s true the author is now widely read, he hasn???t remained static. Rather, he has retained the ability to surprise readers each day with a surprising new facet of his work, whether it be his intense plots, well-crafted characters, solid narrative arcs or electrifying endings. Below I would like to share with you a brief review of his book The Forgotten Room, which featured for a long time on the New York Times bestseller list.
In this book Professor Jeremy Logan, the story???s protagonist, must confront a disconcerting case that might well be his last. As Lincoln Child???s faithful readers already know, the professor has previously appeared in other books in the series.
Logan specializes in analyzing and resolving possibly supernatural mysteries; this time he will find himself immersed in what appears to be a suicide by a prestigious doctor. The first enigma he encounters is the strange behavior reported by the doctor before his death; he is said to have suddenly begun to act in an aggressive way, very different from the attitude which earned him the affection and respect of colleagues.
During the course of his investigation, Logan also discovers a hidden room. The mystery that awaits him there will be much greater than the one he initially faced, rejecting any simple solution and dragging him irremediably down a path that admits no return.
